Stories from an Australian girl. At one time I was a mover and shaker in a city advertising agency but opted out for a simpler, more wholesome life. I now dedicate my working hours to my digital marketing consultancy where I focus on modern communications. There's four of us in this family. We live in the hills above the south east Queensland coastland with much food, coffee, music and art. And life is real. Very real.

Off he goes...
My better half (don't you just hate THAT saying) has left for seven days of musical touring as of two hours ago. He is travelling south to Adelaide, onto Melbourne and finally Sydney. I don't envy him and the three other guys + equipment and luggage jammed into the Toyota Tarago they've rented for the time, but I'm sure they'll have a tonne of fun, games and laughter with many absurd stories to tell. We will miss Daddy and be sure to watch this space for the post where I describe some hideous evening post-shower toddler tantrums 'cause that is usally Daddy-Daughter time and she knows that is when I'm at my most vulnerable in the day. I have vowed to be fine in the next week even though the phone calls I have had so far mean people think otherwise, let's just see if I am as strong as I think emotionally. See...I'm quite looking forward to the time alone. Just me, a glass of red and Foxtel...ahh bliss.

Oh yeah, once the kids are in bed time alone is luvrly. When Hubby is away and I'm the only adult on duty for days on end, I sort of go into automatic pilot and put my emotions into neutral - not too happy, not too sad, not too stressed. Works for me anyway. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to the times my husband is even out of the house for the evening (quite rare these days). I don't have to cook a 'proper' dinner, can just loll around on the couch, not have to answer to anyone...Enjoy it!
