The Jamie Oliver bi-monthly magazine, 'Jamie Magazine' launch issue available now EXCLUSIVELY at Borders (Australia) for $12.95. Oliver's wife Jools writes a column, and the chef says he wants to create "a more personal relationship" and promises it won't be "yet another cooking mag.
Put together by an editorial team of four, the magazine is printed on matt paper from sustainable managed forests, making it unique among UK food titles.
From the website:
Jamie Magazine is the exciting new food and lifestyle title from Jamie Oliver. Each issue will be packed with more than 100 reliable, easy-to-make and enticing recipes by Jamie and other top chefs from around the world. You can look forward to wonderfully evocative photography and great writing from some of the biggest names in the world of food and drink.
The magazine is a window on to Jamie's action-packed world. You'll meet the producers and cooks who inspire him, recreate the recipes that enthuse him, and explore the destinations he loves visiting.
"I really think that this will become one of the best food mags in the world," says Jamie. "I hope you'll join us."
Well, given the current financial climate and especially that of the 'glossies' I wish him the best. Going by previous initiatives, I doubt he needs my well wishes.
I think it's a bit wanky to have named it "Jamie Magazine" though. Sounds like soft porn for the young closeted homosexual teen.
