Getting my hands dirty..

Today was a great day for planting and re-planting herbs into garden pots. The assortment includes sage, oregano, basil, mint, parsley, coriander, dill, rosemary and thyme. Delicious. It is such a treat to pull fresh herbs from your own garden and I believe it is a wonderful lesson in self sustainability for our children.

In other garden news, the passionfruit, lemons and oranges are terrific right now and the mulberry tree has had an enormous amount of fruit on it. Miss A's classmates have been housing silk worms late this term so we fed them with fresh leaves for a couple of weeks. It took me back to doing the same in primary school except we had a mulberry tree hanging over the school yard from a nearby neighbour, can you imagine our parent's horror when they were confronted with a mulberry stained uniform for weeks on end.
